Serious LDAP problem

I was having an issue doing an sshfs mount of my main box /home to my 
laptop yesterday, and figured out the problem as ddclient wasn't 
updating the IP with my dydns domain.
So, the question I ask, is are you ssh-ing to the IP address, or to a 
domain?
I had to go to the dydns web interface and manually update the IP 
address.  Since then, ddclient seems to be updating it correctly again.
Weird...I know...
