postfix or exim

'Best MTA' really depends on what you need/want. Both exim and postfix 
will have their  own strengths and advantages. Aside from that, the only 
other major difference there is is the design decision behind them. 
postfix is modular while exim is a single monolithic program.

So without knowing what you need or want, nobody can really answer that 
question of 'Best MTA'.
