hehehe...

But seriously though, the new GUI system in MSO 2007 *is* attracting
attention. Some people want to stay away from it (maybe they resis
change?) but some others are starting to swear by it (even some hard
core users). Whatever one says about the new GUI, what is certain is
that it created talk and waves. I have had feedback from users (*real*
users, not average Joe users) that once a user gets used to the GUI
(however chaotic is appears at first), it eventually starts to make
sense. Reminds me of vi and emacs keys combos :)

In any case, as I earlier wrote, I am not sure MSO has improved any core
document preparation and management functionality as OOo has been doing
in every release. I has only changed and 'enhanced' bells, whistles and
lipstick.

Plus, what it has going for it historically is its ease of use of
whatever basic features it offers (comments, reviewing, integration with
outlook, etc.).

>From my own recent experience, I have noticed that is it terribly easier
to create custom labels in MSO than in OOo. OOo interface is still
clunky and rough. It is lacking some sort of "smooth flow" in it. Have
you ever used OOo to insert cross references in a technical document, or
tried to number equations? That GUI needs tons of work to make it smooth
and *then* it needs tons of polish to make it intuitive and have a
smooth flow from one option to another. Things are improving though.
