I see, thanks Mihamina.

In this specific case I have added the openoffice-pkgs PPA but when I
try to update OOo (from the standard 3.0 to the PPA's 3.1) it holds
the packages back. I installed Synaptic and it is updating the
packages just fine. I was curous as to why this may be.
