Why don't you install wicd which will remove network manager, reboot and your wireless will likely be working again..  If not, go through the wicd icon menu and enable your wireless card and all should be good.
NM is known to have some issues and I don't think I'll use it again.  Wicd just works for me; I didn't even have to set it up, just installed it and it worked. HTH.
