nagios

is anyone running nagios?  I have built a home network of four computers and
thought I'd test out nagios before recommending it to my school's (high
school) tech department.

I'm NOT a tech-type, just a guy who looks for answers to questions ...
answers that the real tech people don't have time to research.

Anyway, I got the program and it's dependencies through Snyaptic.  I've
looked on the internet for something about the software.  I find lots of
explanations about plug-ins, etc; there is one piece of really critical
information that I can't find:  how do you get it running?  It doesn't show
up in the applications, so it's obviously a command line issue.  I just
can't find the command.

Any help would be appreciated.
