In the midst of the ongoing thread on what could be characterized as war
on words I post this with some reluctance because from the purists point view
I am high-jacking the thread. But I must do it in appreciation of the community
who were instrumental in getting me where I am today.
I started with Linux 2 years ago at age 75 a typical point and click windows
dummy. The move was not out of financial consideration, but rather
frustration at
what I had allowed MS to do in creating a cyber robot.
I called and still characterize it as such “my Linux adventure.
I have been to many places operating systems and lists in this
adventure to finally
arrive at 9.04 with no regrets having met folks from all over the
world in this journey.
I have subscribed to no less then 8 or 10 lists/forums in the OS search.
This list in my experience has over the long haul provided me with the tools to
finally arrive at a “comfort zone” I thank the regulars and everyone
else, even the rants
who if nothing else instilled tanacity.
I recorded it all on a “blog” for those who care to read the ramblings
of a 77 year old.

Please consider this nothing more or less then a thank you
Allen
