I thought so too, but today most of my complaints are with Windows
Explorer (The GUI), not with the underlying OS. Running KDE on Windows
will take care of that! And since most of the apps on Linux are
available on Windows as well, there is little keeping me on Linux at
the moment.

You should try the RC of Windows 7. The GUI is still annoying but
getting much better (I have even filed feature requests to KDE for
some of it's terrific enhancements), and the system seems relatively
secure. I could not crash it, either!

Windows is ridiculously expensive.

That is true! But now that Windows can run KDE and is secure and
stable, they have caught up!
