Update Manager 'Distribution updates'

    Early on with Jaunty I had a problem with the Jaunty Update Manager 
much as your having. I was told to do this and it all cleared up.

$ sudo evolution update
$ sudo evolution upgrade

Do this for about 3 days and your Update Manager will work again.
