Thanks for thinking with me. AT the moment, I can't spend more time to 
it due to other activities but tonight (UTC -2) I will look into it.
I think the problem is not with wicd or NM but with the scripts, maybe 
controlled by udev but I will first dive more into the technical 
background of PC wireless. The radio part is no problem (I'm a HAM radio 
amateur) but the control structures are still a mystery to me.
I'll keep the list informed.
