Wubi seems stuck during download

There are a couple of bugs for this. Have you tried installing in
Safe Graphics mode? [1]
Also, there is at least one bug for wubi simply refusing to install. [2]
There is also the possibility that it is the internet connection getting
lost. Perhaps unplugging the ethernet cable and running the
installation will allow it to complete. Then plug the cable back in and
start Ubuntu. You should be able to run the updates then, to bring it
up to date.
