Your only real problem is the 375 MB of physical RAM.  That's just very
hard to work with.  I'm running Hardy with 1 GB, and I find that slow
sometimes.  I'm a bit surprised you were happy with Hardy on 375 MB.

My advice for Jaunty would just be to be very careful about how many
programs you run simultaneously.  Uninstall or disable anything you
don't need.  You might consider switching to XFCE or another smaller
desktop.
