kino, xine

Hi, I want to edit some video, tried kino, but it says

The program 'kino' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.

xine gave a similar error message:

X Error of failed request:  BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)

I run on jaunty, 1GB memory.
Any ideas?
