It has been said over and over already that it's even easier: Jaunty
already has a command to do it (dontzap), and there were at least plans
for a GUI tool to change X options, which was planned to include this. I
just don't know whether this will be actually finished for Jaunty, but
the blueprint is there to read for anyone who cares enough to look it
up.
