I think that Andy is right, something to do with lots of available
memory (8 Gb?) .and. video configuration.

Just a thought, have you reset all BIOS parameters to default after
reducing the amount of memory? How is you onboard video configured?
Which parameters are you using?

I wonder if you can't find an old spare video (off) board just for testing?
