Necessary System Upgradation for advanced performance

Hi
I have installed ubuntu in my system and is finding in working at an
exceedingly slow pace. One reason for this may me the RAM which I have of
only 247 mb but there might be other reasons for the retarded
performance(for example graphics card). I will go for upgradation of
necessary components. But before that it will be really nice if anyone can
advice on the things that will need upgradation. Given below ar my present
