Thanks for your information.  I found the system/preference and 
am now able to see what I type without converting to HTML and 
selecting 24 pt type size.

Are you sure that there is no need for anti-virus & trojans protections?
I am now using Ubuntu because my other computer, which had the Comcast
provided McAfee (sp) on it was hit.  Since that awful time I learned
first from my neighbor that her computer was infected in the same week
and learned of two others. One who was using Norton.

One of the replies to my earlier e/m request did recommend some
software.  Unfortunately, I did not write down the information and did
think of the advice I had yet to use until after replacing the hard
disk.

I once saw an ad which said that the wise person would not have
unprotected sex any more than he would use an unprotected computer.
Well, I am using my computer and would hate to get hit again.  The other
is not a problem for me.  During my Windows years (not really over) I've
been infected a few times even with protection software.  Luckily, only
two were grave enough to disable me.
