gnome terminal and mutt margin spacing

Using gnome-terminal and mutt I can configure the right side
with .muttrc with set wrapmargin=4 ; however, I cannot for the life of
me figure out how to get gnome terminal to set a margin on the left side
of the terminal so my text in mutt does not butt up against the window!

Any way to get a slight margin on the left side of gnome-terminal?
