How to do dual boot install of Ubuntu on Mac

Hi folks,
Thanx for all the help you've provided me but I have this question, How to safely dual boot Ubuntu and Mac OS X on a MacBook Pro 15 inches? (the reason I ask this question is coz in my college they require all their students to buy a laptop and they only allow mac and windows laptops. And windows laptops are JUST PLAIN UNSAFE, so I have only one option and that is a Mac) 
Any help would be very much appreciated.
