Gnome sucks anyway.
Gnome, KDE, Xfce...they just get in the way...all bloat and eyecandy.
Fluxbox is much better.
So is openbox or LXDE, or, even better, something like
xmonad, dwm, awm (although I had trouble with some java guis in those), or,
best yet, ion3.
Ion3 rules.
Were I not using Ion3, I would probably be using openbox or fluxbox, though.
I used both of those for quite some time before discovering ion3.
Actually, I'd probably be using xmonad, if it would play nice with java swing guis
without some convoluted work-around.
