What we have here is a misunderstanding of terms. A re-BOOT is an action
required for changes in the BOOT operation of the system. A re-START is
an action required for changes in everything ELSE in the system. In
other words, if it ain't in that funny little folder /boot, it don't
NEED a re-BOOT, it needs a re-START. You CAN do a re-boot instead of a
re-start to upgrade programs, but there again, you could also do a
complete shut-down, remove all cables and hardware, re-assemble and do a
cold start. All depends on how far you want to go beyond what is
required, and how much time you want to waste.
