* What kind of Presario is this?

* Could you post the output of running "lspci -vv" in a shell?

* RTL8139 should use either module 8139cp or 8139too. Are they loaded?
What happens (last lines of output of dmesg) if you run "modprobe
8139too" or "modprobe 8139cp" as root?
