'apt-cache search anti-virus' show's you a nice list and it won't cost you a thing.
It sounds like your employee is trying to scare you without proper knownledge :)

Onderwerp: A question on protection software

Final question.

Some while ago I was telling a Microsoft employee why I was interested
in switching to LINUX. One of the reasons were the virusus and trojan
problems. He told me that if I switch I will need to buy anti-virus type
software. He also said that it was a lot more expensive than what is
offered for Windows (he also told me that the danger was equal but on
that I think he was being verbal creative) .

Does anyone know of a anti-virus & trojan software that won't cost me
a big bundle?
