Can you find out what is going on above? Do you have update-notifier
even installed? Find out using dpkg.
BTW, did you go over these logs yourself?
Let us ignore the nm-applet errors below for now, even though I suspect
the problems are related somehow.

Finally, I think you should pay attention to the following.

Please reply to this list only. I read this list on its corresponding
