Unable to Update.

The GUI isn't giving us much to work with. (or at least me :-)
If we do this from the command line we will get more information.
Start normally and log in.
Open a terminal (Under accessories)
Type
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude safe-upgrade
and post here the exact output you get.
This will either update your system or give us some solid information
to find out what to do next.
