which webcams work out of the box on Jaunty (amd 64 bit)

Hello,

Could users post which webcam they have working with Jaunty (on amd 64
bit installation) out of the box?

For now, I can confirm that Microsoft VX-5000 woks, but this is on a
intel 32 bit laptop.

On the amd 64 bit machine, Microsoft VX-1000 does not work. What's more,
the gspca module, which supposedly supports VX-1000, is also not
compilable on Jaunty. The auto-install command (sudo m-a a-i gspca)
borks with compilation errors.

I am planning on buying a webcam in a day or two. So, if people could
list the webcams they have working without any problems (without any
serious tweaks or installing manual packages from tgz, etc.), it would
be really appreciated. On a 64 bit machine though.

Also, how does lib32v4l-0 package related to webcam support on a 64 bit
machine?
