M	MySQL	(database)
P	PHP	(web programming language)

It is not one software package, but a description of a server configuration.

Variations exist:
* MAMP = Mac-based,
* WAMP = Windows based
* WIMP = Windows, IIS, MySQL, PHP
* sometimes the P is another programming language like Perl or Python.
* ...
