I check daily. I would have thought that it might have been a repo
mirror issue as well, however I first did it on this machine then
checked (repeated the process) on another machine with the exact same
sources.list & mirror settings two hours later - same results.

Just fired up another jaunty machine that hasn't been updated in at
least 10 days and got the same results.

Granted the updates were non-security updates (OpenOffice.org PPA's and
the VirtualBox repo), but I would have thought that the standard 'sudo
apt-get update' and then trying with the standard update-manager would
have brought them up. It was only after I used 'Refresh' in Synaptic
that the updates finally appeared.
