I set my scheme up because I only have a half dozen programs that need
configurations saved, which is done from within the software.  The data
is just a matter of remapping.  Rebuild on top of home tended to carry
over things I didn't want and 15 minutes of relinking beat hours of
troubleshooting.  As mentioned, this works very efficiently for me.
