ON some computers you most hit something, in my case ESC (not same on
all computers) to be able to select boot device. Select the CD-ROM
unit and hit ↵ and off you go.
The CD starts up Ubuntu in ”Live” mode, so you can use it without
install anything. HOwever, running Ubuntu from a CD is very slow, so
you might want to install it on your computer. Luckily there is an
install icon on the Ubuntu desktop that does that for you. You have to
answer a few questions during the install, but nothing abnormal. The
most difficult part is maybe the partitioning thing. Not to actually
do it, but to decide how many partitions you want and how big you want
them (if you don't want to go with one of the standard options).
