hey can anybody tell me how create a new partition or can i use any software

hello everybody 

I'm new to this linux specially ubuntu and yesterday by mistake i made 
my whole hard disk to act as local file system
and now i'm not able to save a new file in it and 
even i'm not able to create a new file 
yesterday i used some commands but being 
a newb to linux i was not able to create a new partition out of 
that local file system disk space

or tell me a way to use software for that
