9.04 can't find second hard drive.

Sounds like the drive has failed to me...

If you want to check it w/o putting it in another computer, one way
would be to buy an external hard drive adapter (i.e. one that would let
it plug into a USB port) and try it that way. best bet would be to put
it back in the old system though, see if it works like that, as others
have suggested.

What does the seeking noise you hear sound like? when does it start?
does it have a pattern?
