Then I dont think anyone can help you unless you give more detailed
information (which is why you did not get many answers to your email
in the first place):

* what you mean by "restarting the sound"? It is a very vague question
that is just asking to be ignored --- or worse --- get a lmgtfy.com
link as a reply.

* If not sure about the previous point, explain what is your problem,
and why do you think restarting the sound would solve it. Your most
likely source of help on community mailing lists are the people(users
or contributors) who had to deal with the same problem and solved it.
They're usually more than willing to give you a hand and five minutes
of their time, but how would they know that you're having the same
problem if you give no details? Detailing your problem does not
guarantee you will get help, but will increase your chances
dramatically.

* what was the output that lead you to conclude that the command did
not work?  As a rule of thumb, if you are suggested a command,
copy-paste the output if you think it is not giving you the expected
result.
