I don't believe it does you know. I've never actually heard the term
"bash file" to refer to a shell script in 30 years of being in the
game. On the other hand, once you've got come idea of what a script
is, it's pretty easy to conclude that a bash file is nothing more than
a shell script written with the Buorne Again Shell in mind.

I was indeed using a form of Unix. I don't actually recall what
version it was thinking back. I recall using SCO Xenix several years
later when teaching a COBOL (/shudder/) course.

As for Linux coming along a bit later, I know - I used to have
tremendous "fun" porting the pre-1.1 kernels onto Motrola 68000
processors many moons ago. So much fun in fact, that I still feel
slightly queasy thinking about it now.
