fetchmail and gmail and ssl

here is the error I get.

$ /usr/bin/fetchmail -k -s
fetchmail: Server certificate verification error: unable to get local 
issuer certificate
fetchmail: Server certificate verification error: certificate not trusted
fetchmail: Server certificate verification error: unable to verify the 
first certificate
