Can you run: 

echo $PS1 

please and post. It should look something like this: 

froller at metis:~$ echo $PS1 
\[\e]0;\u@\h: \W\a\]${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\u@\h:\W\$ 

Once more for GP do: 

cat /etc/hostname 

and post.
