KFTPGrabber incompatibility with Ubuntu 8.04

Hello.

We have a number of systems running Ubuntu 8.04.

They have KFTPGrabber installed on them.

A while ago, an update to KFTPGrabber, that I had previously been using, 
stopped it from loading at all, one of my systems. It has since been 
removed and re-installed, many times, and it simply does not load.

On another of our systems, it loads, but went rabid with a web site that 
was being updated via uploading new  files on the web site. Much work 
had to be done, to fix what it did to that web site.

Does anyone have KFTPGrabber working properly on Ubuntu 8.04?
