Thanks, in my /etc/network/interfaces I applied metric line to each
interface, because I am transitioning local network from one subnet to
another, and have an alias eth0:0 address for a while.

But yes, it shouldn't cause any problem - merely specifies a preference
for which interface to use, in the case that more than one apply. My
earlier testing did not include the metrics, I simply forgot to remove
the lines from my interfaces file.
