Sound stops after unknown time

Greetings,


Many times after login the sound is not working even though I start the 
mixer.

One way I improved things is that at login I remove ~/.pulse directory 
(added `rm  -rf $HOME/.pulse` in /etc/gdm/Xsession). However after some 
audio idle time (so it seems) sound on my system stops.


I don't know where to start looking.
