OT Chrome OS next year

Why so much negativity?

THE GOOGLE is contributing to an open source operating system:

To me it sounds only like good news. Who knows, one day ubuntu might
have that "new windows system" integrated or otherwise into its own
distro!

Linux is here to stay, KDE and GNOME have their user base and there
aren't any signs that they're losing them. Competition among linux
distros should only be to strengthen user experience, convert as many as
possible into the free and open world. 

Competition is healthy. Google might be a market leader, but I don't
think ubuntu, opensuse, fedora are that vulnerable.
