I want to use the software cdrecord as a user. It was a real surprise
to find that everything was put under the /opt/ directory. It is a fact
that Jorg Schilling believes that the /usr/local/ directory is no longer
used on Linux. He is very hard nose about this. I thought about just
moving the whole mess under /usr/local/schily/. But link works fine so I
did what is below. Now as a the user karl in a terminal I can run cdrecord.

Jorg is a strange person. He writes fine code but is not at all
flexible about the use of his code and which license he wants. This
keeps his work out of the Ubuntu repositories which is a shame.

karl at karl-hardy:~$ sudo link /opt/schily/bin/cdrecord /usr/bin/cdrecord
