Irssi: Subscribe to another channel in a second IRC network

In ~/.irssi/config I inserted almost at the end of the channel
definition list the following text:
'{name = "#ekiga"; chatnet = "GIMPnet"; autojoin = "yes"; \
password = "***"; botmasks = "*!*bots at host.org"; \
autosendcmd = "/^msg $0 op pass"; },'.
I logged out from GNOME and logged in. I rebooted the Ubuntu 9.04
computer.
But the channel #ekiga does not show up automatically.
A '/channel' command does not list #ekiga. Neither after issuing a
'/channel add -auto #ekiga GIMPnet <password>'
command (which Irssi responded with: "#ekiga saved").
But the command '/j #ekiga' works as expected with a minor flaw: The
channel #ekiga does not appear in the first free window 17 (which is
designnated 'GIMP') but in window 18.
What is wrong in ~/.irssi/config?
Kind regards,
Detlef Lechner
