googleearth wont display weather

Nope, I installed google earth for linux once and the interface looked 
like crap to say the least.

Has it changed any?

I have always wondered why people would want to install this behemoth 
application that in my opinion would be better if strictly a web 
application.  Coming from google, you would think?
