Notebook selection.Advise need

Folks,

I would like to replace current desktop with Ubuntu  by notebook with
Ubuntu.

I found 3 kinds of suitable for computers
-----the first----
Sony NS series(220 0r 240)
Sony CS series((2153, 220)
----the second---
Acer Aspiro 3810
----the third-----
Toshiba Satelite (A505, E105)

According to friend experiance : He does not have problen with Sony note
book

What about Toshiba and Acer labels?
 Does anybody try to use this model under Ubuntu, or other kind of Linux
like opertaion system

Sony is more expencive from my point of view. Main purpose of using of this
laptop is software development.
