My first installation using your std desktop install went smoothly But
the all to notorious, infamous 'Wireless' the Broadcom! yes it did not
install nor find it as a proprietary device.

Well after reading all the articles in Ubuntu and around the net and
doing all they asked in detail without fail, the best I could do was get
it seen by Ubuntu but not realized.

Lets say I gave up after 7 days of trying everything. Except one other
thing.

A little unkown tid bit that even the newbies don't know of is the f4
'the OEM install.

Well I did not expect anything but the usual. my surprise the system
claimed the broadcom as proprietary along with modem software and with a
hard wire LAN connection it allowed me to download the proper drives and
software for both. after installing it requested a boot and within
minutes the wireless LAN light on the system was active and all has been
well since then, not even a glitch.
I would say it was successful and would suggest it to others as a last
means before the tears.

Just a note: over 1 year I have tried Mandriva, Fedora, Mint and none
have come close to such an easy install as Ubuntu.

It's Great!!!!!!
Thank You! from the bottom of my heart, look you have me tearing up, ahh
shucks...

Best Regards
S Barros
