Segmentation fault is a C program's way of saying 'I dunno what the
heck to do - I'm quitting now!'

Since it appears to be related to detecting the hardware around your
pcmcia slot, take a look on the first screen of the installation cd -
(not in front of me currently)  - there will be a way to boot without
checking for pcmcia hardware - likely labelled 'nopcmcia' - Look at
the various F key options.

Note that just because it happens on the install CD doesn't
necessarily mean it won't work after installation.  If it does, the
same nopcmcia option will still work, but disable the pcmcia slot.
