Upgrades from hardy 8.04 LTS to Intrepid 8.10 non-LTS are supported!
Skipping versions is not supported. I have upgraded 3 systems from 8.04
to 8.10 with no problems. I also a system from 6.06 LTS to 7.04 to 7.10
to 8.04, and am running that with no problem. I upgraded one system
from 6.06 to 8.04, with errors and and to reinstall even though that is
also supported, since both are LTS.
