Error installing ubuntu alternate on a eeepc 900

i was amazed it didn't see the ethernet, but if you just keep going, the
ether will work when you boot the system. despite the rumours you might have
heard the wifi does not work out of the box on my 904, i use the atheros
drivers and ndiswrap. i install exlusively using alternate (8.10 now) jaunty
did see the ether but still no out of the box wifi.
