They don't need AV for the same reason they don't need an asteroid
shield on their house.  Currently the odds of it being a problem as
astronomical, and the hassle of having one far outweighs the
advantages.

The rest of your argument about salivating virus writers is unprovable
(either way) except by time - come back if/when you have proof.
