Hi! 

I assume you use apache. Then you can use apaches normal authentication
mecanisms. 

Take a look at mod_auth_pam. It is in the package
libapache2-mod-auth-pam in main. See
http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/apachepam.htm for an example how to use it.
